MyTrueAncestry Caution on the interpretation of MyTrueAncestry results

Thanks Patrida!

Ok I will precise my question....

Is there a speculation from were the R1b might have ended up in eastern pontos/anatolia? were my grandparents came from.

(I have a grandmother from Saranda Eklisses, Eastern Thrace)

There are two theories about R1b. We know that it came from the Caucasus but there are two possible routes. South of the Black Sea and North of the Black Sea. Now if your ancestors were from Pontus they could have been Greek colonists from the mainland or the islands. Or they could have been locals that got Hellenized. Turkey has a substantial amount of R1b.I am sure that if you look at the different R1b subclades you may deduce if the subclades were locals that were Hellenized or Greek colonists. But you will have to do a deep, deep dive into Y-DNA subclades and their prevalence in the Y-DNA testing sites and possible ancient Y-DNA samples. Personally I don't care that much but to each his own.

Thanks for the info!
Yes I agree! I dont need a computer to know I am Ellinas.

But either way I find it interesting.
