For those who aren't familiar with the concept of Spiral Dynamics, please read the introduction.
After evaluating the strength of the green vMeme, blue vMeme and red vMeme values by country, here are now the orange vMeme values.
The orange meme is associated with personal achivements and status, capitalism, consumerism, materialism, entrepreneurialism, competition, scientific and technological progress, creativity... People with orange values are driven by money, image status, fame, success, recognition...
To estimate how widespread those values are within each country, I have selected jobs that are typically associated with high education and high salaries and the pursuit of personal achievements and status.
I thought of including managers and consultants, but these jobs are already included in the financial and IT sectors, so it would be redundant to count them twice. It would be too complicated to try to sort the data for managers in each sector. Top executives are surely associated with the orange vMeme, but they only represent a fraction of the population and would not influence much the overall percentage.
All managers and executives at any level represent about 15% of the workforce in the USA, the UK and France, and probably in most developed countries.
