I researched Wyatt Earp's ancestry on Geni and found that he descends from Joshua Earp (1706-1771). The Earp DNA Project has a lineage descending from Josiah Jackson Earp (1761-1844) and his son Allen Milford Earp (1796-1862). It turns out that Josiah is also Joshua's grandson, so it is the same paternal lineage as Wyatt Earp. This lineage is R1b, but unfortunately the number of STR does not allow to determine the deep clade. Nevgen gives the highest probability (21%) for R1b-U106, but it's far from certain.

A typical hero of the American West Earp was at different times a professional gambler, teamster, and buffalo hunter. Over his lifetime, he owned several saloons, maintained a brothel, mined for silver and gold, and refereed boxing matches.

According to The Famous People, Wyatt Earp "was a policeman and a gunfighter who achieved iconic status for his role in the Gunfight at O.K. Corral, one of the most famous gunfights in the history of the American West. The actual gunfight lasted only for about 30 seconds, but it became Wyatt Earp’s claim to fame. Even though he is believed to have played the most important role in the fight, the other participants lawmen Virgil and Morgan Earp (his brothers) also played a significant role."
