This episode of her series "Secret Italy" on British television just popped up on youtube last night.

I liked it a lot, probably because many of her favorite little visited places would also be mine. :) I've said before that if I knew the end of the world was coming I'd like to await it at Villa Cimbrone in Ravello, my favorite of the towns on the Costa Amalfitana, even though it's not on the sea.

I thought I knew a lot about Sardinia, but some of her finds surprised me, particularly the weaving done with the fibers of large conches.

I also appreciated the chance to see the genetics lab at Lanusei trying to figure out why Sardinians have so many Centenarians: 411 at the time the video was shot.

Healthy, pure foods, clean air and water, less stress, and strong family and community support all no doubt help, but there must be something genetic involved as well

Half Sardinian herself, all four of her grandparents lived to be over 90. The researcher quickly asked, "Can I take your blood?" :)
