In my particular case, surely my Native American component skews the results to the east ...

Of course, another way of looking at it is that the Latins were a combination of a population similar to Mycenaeans or Minoans or a similar, farmer heavy Copper Age population (the completely farmer like Parma Beaker), plus something resembling Gauls. No two way admixture results are meant to be taken completely literally, of course. No Northern Italians are descended from Spaniards from Spain during the rule of the Visigoths. That's important to keep in mind.

interesting is the new addition to myself of Chernyakhiv_culture_Goths

I have always had some eastern Europe or northern Balkan in my admixture, but never had any Slav .............these Goths are in paper below ( which includes the Friulian Alpine samples from other papers )

Sorry, forgot the one way and two way:

    73.2 Villanovans_(n=2)
    26.8 Mycenaean_Greece_(n=4)

The above two are a little different but it's still majority Bronze or Iron Age Italians with about 20-25% "Mycenaean like".

The two way is basically the same.

also down the line Jovialis and I both get the Swedish Vikings, that I assume might be kind of related to the Baltic Scandinavian

    ok

But I think this Goth link for me is for my mtdna ............I have current mtdna matches with Scania and Gotland Sweden plus alpine Italy and Austria...about 50-50 split

I still think our ydna is a northern balkan to black sea plus central european mix ( my opinion )

I thank Jovialis for providing me the genomes converted in the right format to run the K12b on Admixture-Studio. You will find the table in the page Genomic analysis of ancient Europeans. I provided an introduction on how to interpret the K12b admixtures.

The purpose of this page is to provide average values for various ancient European populations, which can be used by anyone who has tested their genome to compare their own admixture with these modals on Vahaduo. Averages for a given (historical or modern) population are more useful and representative than individual results due to the potentially high level of interpersonal variations in a society.

This is a good alternative to MyTrueAncestry. In fact, I have found the K12b admixtures to be considerably more reliable than the genetic distance computed by MyTrueAncestry. For example when comparing the Corded Ware genomes with modern population, K12b gives Poles, Russians and Belarussians as the closest matches to the western Corded Ware (Germany) and Finns, Karelians and Estonians for the eastern Corded Ware. In contrast, the closest matches on MyTrueAncestry were the British, Irish and Dutch for the western Corded Ware, which does not make much sense as it was an R1a-dominant culture and the Brits, Irish and Dutch are all R1b-dominant and descended from the Bell Beaker and Unetice.

I also found many inconsistencies in MyTrueAncestry for the results of Medieval Germanic tribes. The closest match to the 6th-century Ostrogoths were the Swedes and English. Yet the 6th-century Ostrogoths were already mixed with Huns and Balkans people. The K12b admixtures give a more probable match to modern Hungarians, Austrians, Slovenes and Croats.

So if you want reliable ancient matches, I would urge you to trust more Dodecad K12b than MyTrueAncestry.
    Interesting development.

But I get the impression because the basis is an old calculator it still is kind of rough.

In my case for example the dominant figure is Nordic Bronze Age and Lombard. Besides that the time lapses are thousands of years and the the regions of origin kind of overlapping. The percentages and distances are very changing.....

If samples from Laterza Culture are found to be Minoan-like, it would fit quite nicely with the combination of Catacomb culture.

The Laterza culture or Laterza-Cellino San Marco culture is an Eneolithic culture of Apulia and Basilicata, in Southern Italy. It takes its name from the tombs discovered in the locality of Laterza, near Taranto, and Cellino San Marco, near Brindisi, in Apulia.
The Eneolithic Laterza Civilization (or the Laterza Culture) is an Eneolithic culture which developed in a number of regions of Southern and to a lesser extent of Central Italy in the 3rd millennium BC, around 2950-2350 BC. As with many of the cultures of the late prehistoric period, it is known essentially from the style of pottery recovered from archaeological digs. The culture was defined in 1967 by Francesco Biancofiore, following research in a necropolis of the same name situated to the north-west of the city of Taranto, in southern Apulia.[1][2][3]
For a long while this culture was only documented in a few essentially funerary sites.[4][5] Recent research of large sites, particularly near Rome and others in northern Campania, have extended knowledge of the homes of the culture.[6][7][8][9]
    Chronology and geographic distribution[edit]

The chronology of this cultura has been established thanks to recent discoveries.[10][11][12][13] The culture developed between 2900 and 2300 B.C.. It appeared in central Puglia, Basilicata and on the Tyhrennian shore of Campania and Lazio were the most ancient finds have been discovered. In these last two regions Laterza characteristics overlap with and replace the last manifestations of the Gaudo culture.[14][15][16] In some cases these two cultures overlap in the same site, as in Salve, in southern Puglia.[17]
The influence of the Laterza Culture is seen in areas distant from its original territory as evidenced by decoration of pottery. In the necropoli di Selvicciola, a site in northern Lazio attributed to the Rinaldone culture, a jug of Laterza type was discovered.[18] Laterza type decorations are also present in the ceramics of other localities of Central Italy,[19] for example at Maddalena di Muccia in Marche.[20][21] In Osteria del Curato-via Cinquefrondi, on the periphery of Rome, a tomb was discovered which contained three different styles of pottery: Gaudo, Rinaldone and Laterza.[7]
In Agro romano the Laterza Culture gave birth to the Ortucchio culture (which evolved between 2670 and 2550 B.C. principally from the influence of and contact with Bell Beaker culture[10]) while in other areas it ceased to exist. In Pantano Borghese, near Rome, a site assigned to an advanced state of the Laterza Culture was discovered, contemporaneous with neighbouring sites of the Ortucchio culture. According to scholars it is a cultural enclave which survived in the area.[10][22]

^^Minoans look somewhat similar to the Neolithic Central Italians minus small amounts of WHG, perhaps Laterza culture was similar, give or take a some percentage between CHG/IN and Anatolian_N. I also suspect South Italy received less or none of the copper age WHG resurgence, that the Center experienced.

    From Lazaridis' lecture video:

^^Indeed, it eliminates any confusions about the ultimate sources of ancestry for these populations. That video really is a good resource.

Of course, samples with more steppe may turn up in northern areas or earlier time periods, but so far this is what the Mycenaeans looked like.

I doubt the Minoan percentages will change.

I think so too, it is a relatively large sample set, from two different locations, and they are genetically homogenous.

It seems that the inclusion of the megalithic populations cluster from Wartberg did with the Dodecad K12b’s algorithm change partially, in my specific case, the cluster Bell Beaker Iberia by the cluster Niedertiefenbach (Megalithic Wartberg)

I have added Middle Bronze Age North Alps.

Considering the huge difference between Northeast and Southern Gaul in the Early Bronze Age, I split them into EBA Swabia (Alsace, Switzerland) and EBA Languedoc (southern France).

My closest matches are still the same on the genetic similarity result except that further down I get Gauls-Southern France, and then at the end Gauls-Belgae.

In the two way, my closest match is still majority Latin with minority the two-Italian Greeks, but further down it get's wonkier, with combinations of Mycenaean or Minoan with North Alps. That's obviously a much less proximate result. This is the issue with two way; it can sometimes just mean you're somewhere on a line between two populations neither of which might have actually contributed to your ancestry.
