Lots of new samples:

- Epipaleolithic Magreb (Iberomaurusian) : 65.5% NW Africa, 19% East Africa and 5.5% SW Asia. Interestingly no Atlantic Med (unlike Mesolithic Europeans and Anatolians).

- Epipaleolithic/Mesolithic Caucasus (CHG) : 47.5% Caucasus, 37% Gedrosia and 10% North European. No Atlantic Med.

- Mesolithic Anatolia (AHG) : 57.5% Atlantic Med, 26.5% Caucasus, 12% SW Asia, 4.5% NW Africa. Interestingly AHG is a relatively close match to modern Sardinians (9.1), but to nobody else.

- Early Neolithic Maghreb : Big change from Epipaleolithic. From 0% to 48% Atlantic Med, from 5.5% to 21% SW Asia, from 65.5% to 19% NW Africa, from 0% to 10% Caucasus and from 19% to 1.7% East African. It looks like only 10% of the genes of Neolithic Maghrebi were indigenous, and 90% from Near Eastern immigrants.

- Middle Bronze Age Anatolia (Assyrian period) : big increase in Atlantic Med from the EBA (from 14% to 29%) and slight decrease in Gedrosia, Caucasus and SW Asia.

- Middle-Late Bronze Age Anatolia (Hittites period) : big increase of North European (0% on CA and EBA, 3% in MBA and 8.5% in Hittite period) but also in Siberian (0.2% to 3.2%) and East Asian (0.2% to 3.3%) and Gedrosia (5% to 9.5%). There are only 2 samples, but it would appear that the Hittite invaders really did come from the Steppe and with substantial a Siberian blend.

- Roman Britain : added 6 York gladiators and the average is now closer to Iron Age Britain and modern Britain.

- Avars : very similar to modern Poles (2.2), Ukrainians (2.9) and Belorusians (4.4). One wonders if these samples were not in fact Early Slavs.

-Epipaleolithic Magreb (Iberomaurusian) : 65.5% NW Africa, 19% East Africa and 5.5% SW Asia. Interestingly no Atlantic Med (unlike Mesolithic Europeans and Anatolians).


- Early Neolithic Maghreb : Big change from Epipaleolithic. From 0% to 48% Atlantic Med, from 5.5% to 21% SW Asia, from 65.5% to 19% NW Africa, from 0% to 10% Caucasus and from 19% to 1.7% East African. It looks like only 10% of the genes of Neolithic Maghrebi were indigenous, and 90% from Near Eastern immigrants.

It blows my mind that Europe is only separated by 8 miles of water from the coast of Northern Africa (Strait of Gibraltar)
 
I have added:

- Narva culture (Neolithic Lithuania) : almost pure North European (78%) and Atlantic Med (21%). Closest to modern Latvians (12.6).

- Kangju (Iranian Sogdians) : no close modern match. The closest are the Pamiri from Tajikistan/Afghanistan (15.9).*

- Medieval Steppe Turks : most similar to modern South Bashkirs (13.9) and Tatars (15.6).
 
I started making maps to visualise the admixtures by period.

I did not include the Pre-Pottery Neolithic Levant, Iran and Anatolia as it would require a separate map for this period only (9000-6500 BCE).

I also split the data for Pre-Pottery Neolithic Anatolia (samples from 8300-7800 BCE) and Early Neolithic Anatolia (samples from 6800-6200 BCE). There is actually a big difference between the two periods. We can see that there was a large migration from the Fertile Crescent to western Anatolia once pottery started spreading. Atlantic Med fell from 50% to 40%, North European fell from 3.7% to 0%, whereas the Caucasus, SW Asia and NW Africa increased in total by 14%. Pre-Pottery Neolithic Anatolia was in fact closer to Mesolithic Anatolia.

I'm glad the 2way works for many of you, ... maybe too Northern in my case, I'm not sure it represents my niche, though I could be wrong.

We shouldn’t use Haplogroups to make sense of Autosomal results, ... but my y is rare and who knows where it’s been :)

Illyrian I4332 gets my top northern populations too, ... what if the Illyrians like I4332 were the ones that contributed to the Messapi Ancestry mix ???
