Hi, I just submitted my brother's kit for Y-111 via FTDNA. According to 23andme his haplogroup is L.205.1. I'm assuming that he will get a more generic haplogroup from FTDNA. I'd rather not, at this point, spend the extra money to upgrade to Big Y as I just bought a Big Y kit for my cousin for my mother's paternal side. That being said, I'm wondering if there's a recommended SNP pack that I can ******** that will verify the L.205.1 for me and, hopefully, a subgroup lower than L.205.1 Our paternal side is from the Basilicata region of Italy and I have been able to document them there back to the mid-1600's but am looking to see if there is a Langobard/Lombard connection. Which I think brings me to another question, are there any particular SNP's that have been identified as being Langobard or would rule out a Langobard connection?

Glad to be of help!

I'm in two R1b groups, under my father and my maternal uncle's accounts. These group have been really helpful to me.
