    Nice result :)

I would petition the 23andme, to cap Italian ancestry at 99%, to gain the pedigree of 100% pure Italian you have to pass the pasta cooking test (jk )

Tuscan is probably the centrum for "Italian", in 23andme.

Are you half from Val di Chiana (Arezzo to the borders with the Umbria) and half from Mugello? You wrote this in an older post. Mtdna H5b is quite widespread in Italy. The other tool on "Evidence of recent ancestry" in my opinion is still not very accurate.

This part of 23andme is still not completely accurate in 23andme, in my opinion it still depends a lot on who has tested. Some regions of southern Italy for example almost always come out to users in northern and central Italy. While some other regions are never present.

These for example are the results of a Tuscan from the province of Pistoia, and has no known recent ancestry outside of Tuscany.

It's been changed, it used to point more to Abruzzo in the past, it's probably now something that encompasses multiple regions.

    Yes, I thought that too,

in real life many people asked me if I was from the South because according to them I could fit and look well in the south

MTA's labels are in many cases simply invented. MTA should not be taken too seriously.

I suggest you to read this post on MTA

Indeed. For starters, remember her also that the best calculator to use is Dodecad K12b.

The order of values should look like this to work with vahaduo calculators:

    Code:
    Julia,8.45,0,0,1.06,34.79,19.43,0,1.27,9.81,0,24.23,0

Julia: Hi, nice results. I ran your Dodecad 12B coordinates on the vahaduo spreadsheet that you provided (Post #12) and Jovialis demonstrated in post 15. It it has a more comprehensive set of reference populations that the original Dodecad 12 that is in GEDMATCH. Here are your top 10 populations (I used a Gradiant of 100 to help viewing). All of them are the ones you have distances < 10. You are closest to Tuscany, just as you say you are from and next closest matches are from nearby regions, Emilia/Romagna and Marche, etc.

    Distance to: Julia

I have really to thank you all for everything; you are making me discover new things

the romagna closeness is found also on some 4 fifth cousins from 23andme who are from Faenza, I guess it's my mother branch; where she is from there is a street by the name Faentina that links the towns there of Mugello to Faenza
