Where did the Proto Basques originate?

Thanks for the share. This was interesting and I wouldn't have guessed.

My pleasure. I suspected Caucasus region as G2a y-DNA was present in Proto Basques.
R1b is frequent in Armenians, but Proto Basques had none, correct?

LoL. According to Basques, they wouldn't know. Anything. The guy mentioned an interesting thing about a sublade, high frequency, found in Armenians, Basques, Welsh and Irish.

Dear God. G2a2 was the haplogroup of the Anatolian farmers. G2a1 is the G2 lineage present in the Caucasus.

The Basques are extremely high in Anatolian farmer ancestry. Armenians also have some farmer ancestry. So both may carry some of the G2a farmer ancestry. It doesn't mean Armenians went to southwest France or Pais Vasco.

Indeed, the French Basque are almost pure European farmer (Anatolian farmer ancestry with some added WHG) with minority steppe ancestry. Unlike the Armenians they have virtually no Iran Neo.
