I made a post last week about the Semitic languages where I basically took it as a given that Natufians originated the Afroasiatic languages. I gather that this is the consensus on genetics forums, and for good reason in my opinion (Natufians and non-Semitic Afroasiatics carry E, Afroasiatics have a Natufian signature).Am I right that almost everyone agrees Afroasiatic originated with Natufians?

it belongs to haplogroup E-M35
and some Iran Neolithic haplo J group borrowed this and transformed it into Semitic

Regarding what you said about the Semitic languages, I think that’s a viable hypothesis, but I think it’s slightly more likely they originated in the Levant. We had a discussion about this last week if you want to read more about it.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

yes Natufians spoke modern semitic
