Body morphology :

The stereotypes like long limbed south-saharian Africans and North-Africans are repeated at nausea on fora or blogs by someones. This is based, I suppose, on the mainstream and rather correct opinion that as a whole warm climates favour slim bodies when cold ones favour stocky bodies.
Nevertheless, the conclusion : slim body = long limbs and : stocky body = short limbs, is not so evident. The break between these notions is not only the individual result of some crossings between different somas, but can be verified at the level of rather homogenous populations. We may even break the link between superior and inferior limbs. Some populations of Central Africa show a majority of short legged people who have nothing in common with the Nilotic tribes ! These people are rather muscular in despite of the SSA = slim long limbed, but here, if the link between mass and short limbs can look evident, this association of traits is not verified among « white » North-African among whom the most of the people is rather thin for flesh (exceptions exist) but completely heterogenous for superior limbs compared to inferior limbs or compared to trunk.
It’s true that the climate in not the same around the Sahel and around the dense forests of Central Africa. Warm, almost hot in both regions, but very different concerning dryness vs dampness.

@loowpsa:
completely agree; climate acts as other factors, but it applies to already diverse genetic backgrounds and Humans made more than a go and return in during their "history".
