So, what I'm asking is what is with the middle east north African (MENA)results in the secondary population in my results? Then it disappears in oracle 4. Does that indicate a pinch of near eastern ancestry from a long time ago? I'm seeing the same pop up in my results when running 2 population oracle in other calculators.

Your Red Sea is almost 4% which is high for someone of North European ancestry. Were you tested on 23andme or AncestryDNA? If so, did you get something non-European there?
 
Yes, I have tested with 23&me and ancestry. Neither assigned any Middle East or North African. When I uploaded my raw data from both to MyHeritage it assigned me 1.6% and 2.2% North African. MyHeritage had a sale on their dna kits so I bought one and submitted my sample. So in a few weeks I’ll find out if the results come back similar. Some of the calculators on DNAgenics assign like 1.4% to 3 or so percent early Bronze Age Jordan.

I am not an expert but what I think is that it most likely comes from your French side.

Eurogenes K36 is more specific.

As you know, French people are mix of Celtic, Germanic and Roman people. My theory is that your Middle Eastern admixture that you have on K13 is part of your French heritage, the admixture from Roman people. It reads your French side as partly North Italian-like, so you probably have an ancestors from southern France. Romans had a stronger presence in southern France compared to the north.

Interesting results. I'd say that distance is kinda high at 8 but I'm no expert either. When I see those breakdowns I'd assume 5 and under would be a better fit.

My great-grandfather on my mother's side I believe came from Northeastern France Saint-Amand-les-Eaux, Nord, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France.

It's possible that my great grandfather's earlier ancestors came from southern France. On my family tree I have to my 2nd great grandparents on both sides documented most accurately. I can trace my paternal line to my 4th great grandfather from Belgium. He immigrated to the U.S. in the 1870s from [h=4]Houwaart, Arrondissement Leuven, Flemish Brabant (Vlaams-Brabant), Belgium[/h]Someone from the Gedmatch forums speculated that perhaps my J2 paternal Y haplogroup comes from a Roman. I'm not ready to shell out 200 bucks for the big y test at family tree dna yet.

Yes, the distance is high, but its normal for K36. I think you need to get G25 coordinates if you're interested in your ancestry details, Gedmatch is a little bit outdated.

I looked into G25 but it sounds like to get accurate coords you have to contact someone to generate them or pay for it.

Thank you, Duarte! So what do the genetic distance numbers mean in g25? 0.00-0.05 is close 0.05-0.1 is somewhat close/related ?

Also, where are you and Zhumer getting those coords if you don't mind me asking?
