Apple's sales have surged like never before in the last quarter of 2011. The market capitalisation of the American giant is now US$ 425 billion, exactly as much as Austria's GDP in 2011. Apple's annualised revenues were of US$ 185 billion, the same as the Romanian GDP. These figures are absolutely staggering, especially when you know that the firm has "only" 60,000 employees (while Austria has 8.5 million inhabitants and Romania 22 million) ! If Apple were to be sold and all the money from its market capitalisation equally divided between all its employees, each of them would get over $7 million. That's some profitable staff !
