Can someone knowledgeable regarding ethnic Albanians assist in sharing the appropriate source populations and their coordinates to create an appropriate G25 calculator for analyzing the ancestry of ethnic Albanians? I am interested in determining relevant source populations for certain Albanian samples. I was using Vahaduo and their modern source populations and observed some odd results. Many of the Albanian samples that I was looking at barely had any ethnic Albanian ancestry. Below are some examples of what I am seeing when I use Vahaduo modern source populations.

The first family that you mention from the North with J2a....Are they from a tribal region?

Yes, I believe they are from a tribal region. I believe his line lived around Diber and his line followed Bektashism for many generations.

Do you know anything about J2a-2177 regarding Albanians or J2a at all amongst Albanians? J2a doesn't seem to be common amongst Albanians or Balkan people other than Greeks. Based on his Vahaduo results in the original post, he has a lot of non-Albanian ancestry such as Greek and Sardinian (I am not aware of any Sardinian-related history with Albanians) compared to the other Northern Albanian sample who appears to be relatively very Albanan.

They're Albanian, but you're using modern sources which have similar drift to Albanians so they end up being modeled by them. Example: Greeks from Argolis are Arvanites and have a lot of Albanian ancestry so they can be used to model Albanians. Use ancient or medieval models instead.

For models which are tailored for Albanians check @lezagacy on X

"Greeks from Argolis are Arvanites and have a lot of Albanian ancestry so they can be used to model Albanians."
Pseudohistorical nonsense has no place in a scientific forum
