I was talking to ChatGPT and Google Gemini, and I provided them with all the data I have regarding my Y-DNA haplogroup (DF99), including sites hosting modern Big Y testers, such as "https://www.ytree.net/DisplayTree.php?blockID=186", studies with ancient DF99 samples, my FTDNA results page, and the DF99 project page from FTDNA.
Both AIs theorized that the DF99 marker entered Italy (my country of paternal origin) and spread multiple times. The first occurrence may have been with the Cisalpine Celts. The "Chiostraccio Man" (and his subclade), from Siena, could be a descendant of these people.
Italic tribes likely did not carry DF99, since there are very few modern testers in central and southern Italy. It is a rare haplogroup, and most modern Italian testers are from the north.
According to the AIs, another important piece of evidence is the ancient DNA sample from Sint-Truiden, Belgium.
The other source for this haplogroup in Italy is Germanic migration, especially the BY3450 subclade, detected in the Sint-Truiden 372 sample.
