Dutch Immigrants Must Watch Racy Film By BRUCE MUTSVAIRO, Associated Press Writer
Wed Mar 15, 2:35 PM ET

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands - The camera focuses on two gay men kissing in a park. Later, a topless woman emerges from the sea and walks onto a crowded beach. For would-be immigrants to the Netherlands, this film is a test of their readiness to participate in the liberal Dutch culture.

If they can't stomach it, no need to apply.

Despite whether they find the film offensive, applicants must buy a copy and watch it if they hope to pass the Netherlands' new entrance examination.

The test — the first of its kind in the world — became compulsory Wednesday, and was made available at 138 Dutch embassies.

Taking the exam costs $420. The price for a preparation package that includes the film, a CD ROM and a picture album of famous Dutch people is $75.

"As of today, immigrants wishing to settle in the Netherlands for, in particular, the purposes of marrying or forming a relationship will be required to take the civic integration examination abroad," the Immigration Ministry said in a statement.

I think the EU has obviously realised that the current immigration systems in a lot of the European countries are not working very well. Many countries in Europe are re-thinking their immigration policies and coming up with some new ideas to try to fix them.

This new Campaign in the Netherlands distinctly shows that godlessness and serious religious examinations and judgments are portentous campaigns in Europe. What do you think of this new law the Netherlands introduced for its new immigrants?

I think it is good that people need to do the test, so they actually KNOW something about the country, instead of coming here for money, etc.

BUT, the questions that are being asked are just STUPID!!!! I tried a test on some website * in dutch I am sorry* I didn't really think about all questions, but I FAILED THE TEST!!! hahaha

Some of the questions that are being asked :
What Tradition is started in the last century:
1.New years conference
2. Eating a dutch speciality
3. lighting up firework

*answer is 3

A Co-worker is going to get married, what will you do?
1. You are giving a pressent, maybe something for the kitchen.
2. You will give some money
3. you will send a card.

* HOW THE FCUK can you ask this questions, what does this have to do with doing a test to enter a country???????????

well there are heaps of this kind of questions, and I this is just B-****.

More information, and how to prepare for the test is on this link : http://www.ind.nl/nl/Images/bro_inburgering_tcm5-105967.pdf

Look on page 14 for the english information!

( I want to have this DVD btw.. but it cost 65euro.. so forget about it!!!!

Agree with Baka here. Only test needed is a language proficiency test, perhaps accompanied by a little course in applied geography & culture (civics?). Then let them sign a paper that they will abide by the law, that's it.
