I am autosomally 100% european-/albanian, atleast thats what ancestry dna/g25 tools/ gedmatch suggest, yet i am z93, how is this possible? I have made some research and came to the conclusion that this is pretty much nonexistent among albanians, and some mainland greeks have it but its still really rare. I have taken a look into the albanian dna project rrenjet and only one person out of 1800~ from the database has this haplogroup. I used morley and yseq haplogroup predictor based on raw data from ancestry dna, and both said im z93. Is there any possibility they might be wrong? My paternal side is from the region of dibra/debar. Could this possibly mean that there was some ottoman/turk paternally? Wouldnt this in some way also show autosomally?

Indo-Iranian and later descended peoples like the Cimmerians, Scythians and Sarmatians have a history in the Balkans. Not to mention later migrations from later steppe peoples like the Avars etc... who probably carried it in some proportion.

Roman mercenary is also a possibility.
One of my relatives has roots in SW Germany and is also R-Z93. Could be from a number of scenarios.

everything is possible in the Balkans, so many migrations of people, from all corners of the world,Roman empire, byzantine Empire, all that Robotnick said, Ottoman empire was people from the hole empire moved around, Best would be if you took test to see what subgroup you belong to, then you would get your real Haplogroup, and easier to pinpont your ancestry.
Autosomal can only go back so far, so if it was really long time a go it may not show, could also be that you didint inherent that part, you only get 50% from both parent

100% Albanians never score Rouran Khaganate in that illustrativeDNA model. You definitely have somewhat recent non-albanian ancestry. The Y-DNA is not a mistake.

In the HG breakdown, Natufian is also not found unless you have greek/mideast ancestors.

There are quite a few Bulgarians already found under R1a-Z93. They have a tendency to come from North Western Bulgaria, but surprisingly most are not connected to the steppe branches, but have very distant matches in the Middle East and Europe. There is one unconfirmed case of an ancient Thracian being Z93, so they could be remnants of very old migrations to Europe from the Bronze age.

Well, thats funny, because i have not had to dig deep to find several kosovo albanians that score Rouran Khaganate/hun/xiongnu, (in some it was as high as 2%) and in that same particular illustrative dna Model that you were talking about, which i can link if you are in doubt. I am extraordinarily interested what you base this claim on. Out of 15 Albanian Illustrative dna Results 10-12 scored this. They all have typical albanian Paleobalkanic haplogroups, at least thats what they said. This is most likely just noise. I would be baffled to learn that they all have non albanian ancestry.

On the last part you are right. Natufian is unusual for albanians, even if it is only as high as 0,2% in my case. I have only seen tosks score this, and even in higher numbers, which would make sense.

When i said i was 100% albanian autosomally, i was talking about me scoring the sams results as all other albanians i have seen taking tests on ancestry and plotting right in the middle of albanians on g25 in terms of distances, not in a literal sense of 100%, which an individual with progressed cognitive ability can tell was mentioned by my side that way in a context as to highlight the unusual haplogroup in relation to the autosomal ancestry, which doesnt indicate any non albanian ancestry at first glance.

I am in fact aware that my haplogroup being nonbalkanic means there has to have been a non albanian/illyrian source paternally and i am open on being educated and enlightened on this matter, but i dont think theres any likely chance of it coming from „somewhat recent non albanian ancestry“.

I might be wrong!

Kazakstan/Turkic might account for the Z-93 haplogroup. Cumans/Pechenegs or earlier Sarmatians/Scythians could account for it.
