The test was conducted by a member of the Cohen family, originally from Aleppo (Al-Bandara neighborhood). This family is the same as Eli Ben Shaul and Sophie Cohen, the Israeli spy who was later executed in Syria after his cover-up during the reign of President Amin al-Hafez.

Their results showed lineage G-L13, a branch of lineage G, according to the following sequence:
G2a2 > U1 > L13
