Earlier this year, I read this piece regarding the discovery of a Celtic disc/ brooch. It had been buried inside a clump of organic matter which came from an excavation in Norway, in the 1880s. The said clump of organic matter had sat since 1891 on a shelf in the storeroom of the British Museum, until a keen-eyed curator noticed something stuck inside. http://www.theguardian.com/culture/2014/jan/05/vikings-treasure-excavation-british-museum
Wonderful discovery, or re-discovery perhaps.
Now, take a look at what they have discovered in the storeroom at the Penn Museum in Philadelphia.

Makes you wonder on what else might be hiding in museum storerooms.
