The Kennedy Assassination: conspiracy or random act of violence?

There was a program on the Discovery Channel that made a good case for one shooter hitting both men. Of course, we'll never know, and it won't bring either back.

    multiculturalism good or bad??

I'd look at what he considers ancient. The Forbidden City is older than the Taj Mahal, or many of the other Mogul buildings; and those aren't ancient. In India, "ancient" would mean Vedic or Saraswati (Harappan), imo, (at least in Northern India) and there's not much of that because most of it...

Why the electoral college is a good thing

You wanted more in Ohio?? Between the commercials, phone spam, and politicians running around, we had more than our share.

What do you think of Americans arrested by US gov. for travelling to some countries ?

You're right, it is stupid. I'm torn between calling it paranoia or bragging "see, we can control the little stuff, which means the bigger stuff is under control". Then again, maybe it's a protectionist/ big brother thing: can't have people exposed to "bad things". I still haven't figured out...

    Family Histories

My father's side of the family has been researched and traced back to some time in medieval England (they were landowners). my mother's side is harder because the family came from Alsace. Remember, when you really really need to know, ask a librarian

Rights you do NOT have as an American.

I like it. It's very true.

What make European similar compared to other countries

You may have hit the nail on the head about education, Maciamo. Our (American) education is not standardized and (maybe because we are a young country) not valued the way it could be. A lot of it has to do with the families that each school system serves (educational background, income, etc.)...

    Barenboim Project to 'strip' Beethoven

Why should there be a definitive version? Music (all music) invokes different emotions in different people--thus we have different interpretations that appeal to different people. Even Beethoven himself would have played the pieces differently at different times.

What in the hell has our world come to?

Yes dear, we are awaiting you. Noone is stopping you from saying what you want. The opinion (it's not a law) is about campaign financing, not about the average person. And maybe the Dems. are just using common sense--they have 9 people running afterall. (I'm not of either party).

What in the hell has our world come to?

And a 2 month window for political ads seems reasonable and civilized. Those with lots of money for ads won't have too many because we react negatively to overkill--thus making the on-air time a bit more equal.

What in the hell has our world come to?

Here is the site of this term's opinions. It appears to be what you refer to; but the focus is campaign funding. Happy reading. http://www.supremecourtus.gov/opinions/03slipopinion.html I'm already tired of the commercial for next year's election that's been running for a month.

How do you spend Christmas ?

On Christmas Day itself, I sleep in, go to a movie or the zoo, cook something special, and try to do some volunteering. It's my day to rest after participating in four church services the night before.

    The truth about chocolate

I have the same reaction as you, Rosie. I never wonder about whether to eat chocolate. There are some days it's just necessary.

Question Why do you love somebody???

Your're not corny, Elisakim. Some people don't fall in love as early as others. I know what you mean--I've been there.
