I don't believe the US has been out to get an enemy, just for the sake of having an enemy, I think it has largely been the product of shortsighted foreign policymaking. Think of it this way: America armed and provoked Islamists during the Cold War because it helped win that war. Now, many of America's foreign policy problems are the result of that arming and provoking. So, America has declared (well not officially, but rhetorically) a War on Terror. The short-term results have been positive in ways: fewer countries where Al-Qaeda can be harbored, fewer Middle Eastern dictators, etc. Predictably, though, the long-term prospects look more bleak, and are apt to cause the US to have more enemies down the road...

I completely agree with exception of former Yugoslavia. It was the domestic fascist scum that started the war, Milošević, Tuđman, Izetbegović, Karadžić and such guys. Manipulating with the masses they hypnotised them all with the disease called nationalism making them kill each other. Google: Karađorđevo agreement. Everything was planned in advance, the whole war, everything. History will be re-written once transcripts of the Karađorđevo talks will be leaked to the public. The sooner, the better.

I disagree with the notion of this post. Muslims will never be the majority, irreligious people will be. Even the children of Muslim immigrants take the religion far less seriously than their parents, imagine after another few generations.

Wow, where do you live ? I don't see too many people acting like animals or robots round here. I have to say that the people I know are pretty cordial, social and well-behaved. A century and a half ago there were beggars, thieves, dirty brats, drunkards and all sorts of uncouth and unseemly figures haunting the streets of British cities. Ever read Charles Dickens ? Now it's a changed world, where the mainstream of society behaves like middle or upper-middle-class Victorians, very polite and image-conscious. People are certainly better off now, happier, and have more opportunity to share quality time with their family and friends than when they all toiled at the mine or in factories 14 hours a day.

Economic times are bad, let's blame the Muslims! (By the way in America there is general consensus on both the Right and the Left that immigration of poor workers is beneficial to the economy and deportation is very detrimental, I can't imagine that it's much different in Europe, even with more government entitlements).
