And yet ANOTHER act of inhumanity done in the name of Islam, this time ANOTHER child dies from being what can only be described as brutalised by what can only be described as a brute.
A THIRTEEN YEAR OLD child, a child “bride”, “married” to a man in his twenties, has bled to death from massive internal trauma as a result of what he did to her.
The medical report describes tearing of her genitalia and massive internal bleeding.
Was this down to Female Genital Mutilation, (another little bit of Islamic “nicety”) or down to brutality? Most likely both.
In The Yemen there is no minimum age for a bride and where more than a quarter of girls are married before the age of 15.
An attempt was made last year to introduce a minimum age but it had to be cancelled after the imams said it was un-Islamic.
Sigrid Kaag, the regional director of UNICEF issed a statement on the matter. In it he said that he was “dismayed by the death of yet another child bride in Yemen”
Dismayed? Yet another?
He should have said he was utterly disgusted, and UNICEF should give him the bums-rush and replace him with someone who would make a difference.
Dismayed.
Words fail me. Sheer barbarism, the whole damm lot of it.
