Immigration ISlamic State step foot in Europe

Its not easy to distinguish the tolerant from the intolerant. .
It is not that difficult. Immigration Officer need to ask few questions about his/her ideology. Most of the conservative Muslims or other religious fanatics will not lie or pretend he is something else. Most of them don't know wester culture enough to know what is consider intolerance here. You can create thousand various and tricky psychological questions to catch few cheaters.
As for the asylum seekers, it should not be granted to the people whose ideology is harmful or not compatible with host country. This person should look for asylum in countries of his ideology, which includes religious fanaticism and intolerance.

Islam is totality, religion in Islam is only one of part that system.

Who identifies Islam only as religion he or she cannot understand the whole system.

For example this author talk about political aspect of Islam (of course there are other aspects in Islam):

http://maverickphilosopher.typepad....slams-religious-exemption-from-criticism.html

"The truth of the matter is that Islam is a hybrid: it’s both a political ideology and a religion. And although the political side of Islam may turn out to be every bit as dangerous as Nazism or communism, the religious side provides considerable protection from criticism. Because of its religious nature, it seems improper to engage Islam in the kind of ideological warfare the West waged against fascism and communism."

"We hear a lot about all the different forms of Islam, but the idea of the caliphate is that there should be only one unified Islam. Like communism, the caliphate is intended to be a borderless community—a trans-national and ever-expanding empire of true believers. That’s because, like communism, Islam aspires to be a universal belief system."

"Unlike communism, however, Islam has the advantage of conducting its proselytizing activities under the banner of religion. During the Cold War, communists did not have the benefit of being able to set up recruitment and indoctrination centers all over the free world. Yet, in effect, Islam does. Mosques are not just places of worship; they are often centers of political activity and, not infrequently, of jihad activity."

Thats a great article Garrick. It says it all and true to the bone.

In all honesty I don't think you can assess a person by a few questions. Besides the fact that Radicals can make good imposters too as we already know. (shaving beards and so on to reach their aim) Besides the fact that some can become radicalized for various reasons after they settled in a free country. Give that idea to the European Bureaucrats :) they will shun you and issue warnings of racism and xenophobia.

Some of the questions you put to ask will verge on religious intolerance......that's how they see it. Garricks articile is excellent to explain the situation. As a non religious person I find all this very superficial and unnecessary as there is only one truth, Common sense, but why people have to reason their savagery to a higher non questionable entity is very much beyond me. In this regard its even worse then Nazism or Communism because they admit its there own ideology and not communicated by some higher entity. Sad

surely not all Muslims are extremists, there are some who are more moderate in their thinking, I imagine. Not all Muslims can be in agreement with those shown in these videos, and outside of them. So, where are their voices?

Here is a good start. May they grow and multiply.

Thanks for this Maleth. This is exactly what I was speaking of, the voice of ordinary Muslims speaking up and being heard. I know there have been some demonstrations in Denmark and Sweden against ISIS and many Muslims were part of those, perhaps such things need to have more publicity..:)

Unfortunately it is the case, moderate Muslims seem too quiet, not counterbalancing extremists' voices. They either too scared of backlash or perhaps somewhat sympathising with rising Muslim power
.
I think of the two, it is probably the first. Fear of reprisal can be a very effective deterrent, which shows there are in the community some who have enough power to exercise this type of control. To break the back of that is a different kettle of fish.

I don't know how moderate Muslims think.
I suppose many moderate Muslims don't know how other moderate Muslims think.
Maybe many haven't decided yet.
As so few speak out loud you'd think they have mixed feelings and at least some sympathy - at least if they're sunite.

Actually this is how Israeli airport security works, and they didn't have bombing since 1972. They stop the car before airport and they ask occupants a simple question like "Where are you going". It doesn't matter what person says but how person says it means a lot". Person who is going to die soon has a different mind set and talks and behaves in specific way.
Why not implemented various techniques during with lie detectors included?
Even if only 5% of radicals slips through, instead of 100% now, it will be a great accomplishment. This might give enough courage to moderates to stand up to fundamentalists. Unfortunately bureaucratic institution, as immigration office is, is very slow reaction time and almost immune to changes.

Oh Lebrok Im not sure if you made a mistake in your date. Israel had much more bombings after 1972.

If not mistaken Israel by 2005 had built a wall along the Gaza strip so anyone entering could be searched and not just asking questions. This is when there was a drastic reduction in terror attacks.

In the year 2000 Israel started seeing an influx of asylum seekers from Africa (as we have in the south of Europe). I am not sure how the Israel authorities processed the applications and if they were any different from how they are processed locally or in Lampedusa.

However in 2010 (and completed in 2013), Israel began building a barrier along sections of its border with Egypt (where asylum seekers were entering from) to stop the influx from African countries. Israel also started the deportation of thousands of illegal immigrants who were residing in the country. This is not allowed in the EU and when our prime minister spoke about it he was basically scolded by the EU and international organizations.

you are right...People feel the Bureaucrats in Brussels are in some kind of day dream and dis attached from reality.

You are welcome Hope. Remember these people are very courageous for showing up for the simple fact that being Muslims themselves they can be easily targeted and accused for Apostasy by radical clerics. This kind of religious bullying is well known. They need a degree of protection and support.

I understand, its just one case scenario amongst many. That is pretty strict all over the world. I was asked questions when I passed through passport control in Quebec even thou I had an EU passport. Same questions are asked at the UK border control (they can be pretty tedious) and do same here with non EU passports lane. My Lebanese friend (with a Canadian passport but had born in Beirut) was questioned for an hour and half at a UK airport. Police asked questions like 'Do you hate Israel?'

Islam doesn't consider humanity as a whole. One of first things that to be understood in Islam is separation people in two categories: Muslims and kafirs. One longer article about term kafir:

"The language of Islam is dualistic. As an example, there is never any reference to humanity as a unified whole. Instead there is a division into believer and kafir (unbeliever). Humanity is not seen as one body, but is divided into whether the person believes Mohammed is the prophet of Allah or not.

Kafir is what the Koran and Islam call the unbelievers."
