Why Spanish people look like the people of Yemen?

I have not recent Yemenite picture at hand, but I know more than one North-Easterner or true Arab who could pass for a Spanyard and vice-et-versa, at first sight; it is absolutely not a proof of Middle-Ages Arab colonisation but due to a common origin of some of the Mediteranean ancestors of both regions and some resurgences of atavism; evidently, a lot of Spanyards and a lot of diverse Arabs could not check this because they are more distant phenotypically: different global History even if they share a part of this History ; the overlap exists even if very limited ; even some genuine British or French or Swiss people can be compared to SOME of the North-Easterners (not full body, but say, concerning just their head)- Very dark complexion is common enough among Spanyards, even if less marked than among Portugueses or Sardinians or Cyrpus people, and joined to dolichocephaly and some features it contributes to an approximative ressemblance for non-specialists - I don't understand it could be offensive; we can agree or not agree, but without nerves break or hatred; mistakes are authorized, I think, and disagreements too, if we keep on polite. Evidently if the mistake become religion and harassment, it deserves bannishment, but not immediately; it's my thought, I hope I don't offense anybody, accord or not concerning the technical statement-

addenda: I don't know if it's true yet, but in the middle of the XX°Cy ancient pop of Yemen was divided in different tribes, nomadic bedawins and sedentary people, in diverse regions, every of which has different means of physical traits, cephalic indexes and skin colour comprised -

This analysis is nothing but common sense, just like my posts in this thread... somehow some vote it down... go figure.

I find it actually even funnier that some people in this thread reacted against the original poster andreasj based on what he thinks is racist.

It seems a common anthro forum trend to claim people as Arabic descent just to "humiliate" their people. What's wrong with Near Eastern admixture and when the Near Eastern civilizations (Egyptians, Assyrians, Medes, Phoenicians, Hindus) were at it's cultural, technological peak where were the so called "European" civilizations?
They were culturally more primitive without even leaving an impact in the ancient history, but this has changed when the Hellenes started to copy the knowledge of Eastern civilizations.

In 15th century China and India were similar developed as Europe.

After the navy development and discovery of new world Europe begun to make difference.

In the following centuries Europe was totally dominant.

But difference started to decreases rapidly due to fast growth of China in the last half century since 70’s and now days India.

In 2050 even Indian economy is projected to be ahead Europe.

Absolutely nothing wrong.
I really think that the real racism is identified blatantly in those who take offense at such claims (i.e. those who find my posts unhelpful).

Looking down on Middle Eastern's is a clear sign of ignorance. People of Middle East have been at the forefront of human ingenuity. They were the first farmers who gave humanity strong hold in survival. Also Arabs which are Middle Eastern invented the seagoing vessels, Algebra, Chemistry etc.. Also at present day some of the best cities in the world are being build in the Middle East. Middle Eastern are as bright as any body else. One way to rephrase your logic is: Middle Eastern is good, Gypsy is bad.
Maybe looking down on people and cultures is a clear sign of ignorance.

It is actually illogic to associate Gypsies to his statements. He is emphasizing the importance of the Middle Easterners to the development of science and urban development, probably because those humble beginnings led humans, a thousand years later, to exchange messages across the world via electronic machines...

My logic was to bring forward a neutral element: the Gypsies. Native Americans is another neutral case.
Even if they might have less contribution than Middle Easterners, none should 'look down' on these people.

You might even want to say that one should 'look up' to the ancient Middle Easterners because of their contribution.

Anyway, just my opinion.
