That is true. In Bosnia, in the past, the term Turk was a synonym for Muslim. Even the Slavic Muslims were called "Turks".

IMO, that could be partly explained with the fact that Slovenian lands had German lords since 9th century, as opposite to Croatia which preserved its own Slavic nobility during the same period of time.
