@Torzio R1 top 100:
not me, not my results!yourself, myself and Stuvane all have R1 as the top .................My R1 went from 4 's to 5 ......and other sample took some admixture points via ancient hungaria
R1 and I get the same top matches, but I'm closer or the same. Well, except to R1, of course.@Torzio R1 top 100:

I only get 100 samples (normal Zeus) for now@Salento,
Interestingly, the only Latin that R1 has a connection to is R437.
Though perhaps to more after 100.
Merry Christmas Salento, and to all my friends on Eupedia!I only get 100 samples (normal Zeus) for now
Buon Natale a Tutti
I have R1, R437, and R850 uploaded to MTA, in AncestryDNA format. They are actually a bit closer to themselves, in that format than the WGS combined format.
Here are some interesting observations I've made between these samples in the Regional Archeogenetic map of Ancient Rome:
- R1 is only linked to R437, among the Antonio M. et al 2019 Iron Age samples. There is a connection in the Roman Republican period.
- R437 is linked to R1 in the Bronze age, and R850 in the Iron Age.
- R850 is only linked to R437 in the Roman Republican period.
My speculation is perhaps the Latins were a merger of R1-like, and R850-like admixture.
R1+R850=R437
I can produce GIF of my observations. But I'm a little busy helping with Christmas dinner at the moment, so maybe not today.
