There is a canal from Amsterdam to the North Sea..

The distance between Amsterdam and the sea is about 25 km.

You mean to the west, but Amsterdam was built on land reclaimed on the sea and is directly connected to it on its east side through Merkermeer and Ijsselmeer !

Haha.. Amsterdam is simply not directly connected to the sea.
Is that so difficult to understand?

The way you react even Basel in Switzerland is a sea port
