Because i've been trying to research my family for a while now, and i've been coming across alot of "North Italian" In my Gedmatch results, East Mediterranean (Sicilian) In Gencove, also the updated version, in DNA.LAND, and Geneplaza. I've also contacted Doug McDonald and this is what he said- (also i've been talking 2 him for a while now so this is him replying to me about my mediterranean ancestry specifically italian.)
I tried more custom fits. I can only get Italian of any sort if I completely
exclude Ethiopian and force in some
American. Then

where Italian means NORTHERN Italy. These do fit nicely.
Once again ... all this means that NO DNA FIT can be considered as reliable
in an exact way.
In actual fact, I think your African part is mostly western with some of EITHER North
Africa or East Africa.

Now what this means is that he can potentionally agree on North italian being legit for as far as he is concered, but i'd like you to check out my Gedmatch tests first, only a few because all of them except for a few in PuntDNAL say i have italian.

These are only a few tests of the many tests that show me to have italian ancestry- but that's beside the point, do you see anything in my results in particular that could lead you to think that my thoughts about either sides of my family having Italian ancestry? None of the surnames are italian sounding, i have these in my family.

Gencove (Old version): 14% Eastern Mediterranean
Gencove (New version): 12% Eastern Mediterranean, 5% Northern italian.
Geneplaza: 13.9% Eastern Mediterranean, 2% Southwestern europe
^ however i assume these percentages are underestimated because my mediterranean ranges anywhere from 22-34%.

These are only a few tests of the many tests that show me to have italian ancestry- but that's beside the point, do you see anything in my results in particular that could lead you to think that my thoughts about either sides of my family having Italian ancestry? None of the surnames are italian sounding, i have these in my family.

Gencove (Old version): 14% Eastern Mediterranean
Gencove (New version): 12% Eastern Mediterranean, 5% Northern italian.
Geneplaza: 13.9% Eastern Mediterranean, 2% Southwestern europe
^ however i assume these percentages are underestimated because my mediterranean ranges anywhere from 22-34%.
