VRT News : Four Belgian terror suspects held

The federal judicial authorities are looking into the backgrounds of four men being held by police in Saudi Arabia and Egypt on suspicion of being involved in a fundementalist terror cell.

The authorities in Egypt say that they discovered the presence of an international terror cell in the country last month.

Nine French nationals and two Belgians were among those arrested.

Both the Belgians arrested in Egypt are of Morrocan descent.

They are suspected of having recruited others to fight in the so-called 'Jihad' or 'holy war' in places such as Iraq.

This only aggravates the case of the Moroccan community of Belgium (and France). Whenever they make the headlines, it is either for committing serious crimes in Belgium, or be involved in terrorist activities abroad.
