Genetic origins of modern Southern Italians?

After the recent paper on the Etruscans the darkest corners of the internet are running amok with wild theories about Southern Italians, in particular that they are rootless people who where imported as slaves from the Levant among other theories that probably can't be posted here.

In light of the recent studies what would be an educated approximation on the genetic origins of S. Italy?

Southern Italians are closer to Etruscans and way closer to Classical Greeks than they are to Levantines (of any period).

Southern Italians are primarily a mix of Early Neolithic Farmers, Itallics and Greeks.
