Across the board for everyone in developed counties the average height ranges from 5'10-6'2. Anything under 5'10 is short, anything over 6'2 is tall.

Mom's Dad: 5'7

Average height in the u.s is lower than 5'10 when all races are included, and some southern euro countries in Europe don't have an average height of 5'10
