i am turkish/albanian and 1.80 my brother is 1.92
 
I am 6'1" (185cm), my son is 6'4", my wife is 5'3", my father is 5'3", my mother was 5'6", paternal grandfather was 6'1" at 88 years old so he was probably taller in his youth.
 
I am 5'8, my sons are 6'2" and 6'5", my husband was 6'1". I have several nieces that are very close to 6'. daughters of my sister who was 5'8". In my husband's family his father was 6'2", his aunt was 6' and his grandmother was 6'.
 
I am 198cm / 6'6"
 
I'm 170 cm (5' 7") - female.

Both of my daughters are also 170 cm. We also all three have the same shoe size.

My Mom and Grandmother were 168 cm (5' 6")
Paternal Oma was pretty short as I recall. I think she would have been around 160 max. (5' 3")

My dad is 175 cm (5' 9")
Brother is 178 cm (5' 10)

Husband (British Isles Ancestry) is 183 cm (6 ft)
 
I'm 1m71 (69 years old) but my best friend is 1m88 (68 years) so the average of our small "ethny" is 1m79,5 what is not ridiculous... That said, I don't know what intellectual value has this thread, no offense, only a question.

The study of variances in adult height might have some significance for distinguishing how height could be inherited genetically vs environmental factors. I only answered to get forum points for my standing up to full membership. This thread, in particular might not have much significance aside from someone maybe making correlations between stated genetic results and height, but it is too small of a sample and really only for "getting to know you" purposes, as I see it.
 
@Strudel: under this aspect OK, but it needs both parents and 4 grand'parents and brethren statures everytime and age to take signification; I think the generations differences as a whole point to mesologic influences and that too many people ignore the physical activity input in youth, too often forgotten compared to nurture input. I am 172.5 cm. My daughter is 175 cm. In NYC she is not considered tall. I am very comfortable with my height. I am quick, and agile, comfortable in living spaces, easy find the clothes in stores, medium size, fit everywhere. I find many tall people not quick enough, their movements are somehow slow, and tall males have difficulty in finding dates. I had a friend girl, who was very tall. She is about 192 cm, and at time when everyone of us had a date, she could not find one, because she was tall. Almost all males were skipping her because of her tallness. But she was very sweet, the sweetest human being one possibly would meet in life, open and sweet talking.. We had a wide circle of friends, so we mobilized to hook her up with a tall pal, who had the same problem. We were lucky to find her one and hooked them up. Without us she probable would have been single for life.
