Reposted from Stefano at Genarchivist:

In the study "Ancient genomics support deep divergence between Eastern and Western Mediterranean Indo-European languages" two individuals were sampled from the Narde Necropolis:

Narde, Rovigo province, Veneto
Latitude: 45.027941657128856; Longitude: 11.656466525667486
Sample provider: Claudio Cavazzuti
Serena Sabatini

The necropolis at Narde is a large cemetery likely belonging to the Final Bronze Age settlement of Frattesina di Fratta Polesine.
Around this large and complex settlement two different burial grounds have been discovered so far. One is located c. 500 m south-east of the site and it is called the cemetery of Fondo Zanotto, while c. 500 m north of the site there is the Narde cemetery, which is divided in two sectors Narde I and II.
Fondo Zanotto has c. 150 depositions, while at Narde I and II over 900 depositions have been recovered.
The chronology at the Narde cemetery spans from the Final Bronze Age to the beginning of the Early Iron Age.
An extensive study of the Narde graves suggests a sensible difference as to health and life expectancy between the deceased buried in Narde I and those from Narde II. The individuals from Narde II seem to have had worse living conditions than those buried in the Narde I.
The analyses of the grave goods seems to confirm a wealthier status (in the sense of larger numbers of grave goods and of artefacts made with more precious materials) for the individuals from Narde I.
The vast majority of the graves are cremation burials. Of the c. 600 burials from Narde I only 3 are inhumations, while out of c. 300 burials from Narde II, the inhumation were only 18. This is a very important factor to keep in mind when assessing the social and cultural status of those individuals.
Those graves have no grave goods and with the exception of some of them, that appear to be in particular relation to the cremation graves it is not possible to date them with certainty. It is supposed that those individuals might have been of a very low social class or slaves.
Two individuals were sampled for this project: the individual from grave 23 (CGG_2_022895/Rise 1882), which was an adult male of c. 40-50 years, and the one from grave 59 (CGG_2_022897/Rise 1884), which was also an adult male, but of c. 30 years.
The genetic sex of both individuals resulted also to be male. Due to the position of the skeleton it is argued that the individual in grave 59 was likely wrapped in a sort of textile at the time of the burial: in the grave a bronze fragment and a ceramic shard were also recovered.

Only one of them had enough coverage to be included in the IBD mixture modelling. Here are his results:

I decided to also run the sample against the closest twenty five modern population averages and produced a PCA using both modern and IA Italians as a reference. The sample clusters within modern northern Italian norms with the closest modern population being Italian Trentini. Additionally, Italian Veneti, Bergamaschi and Spanish Balearics are also very tight fits. The sample is also effectively identical to the Picene_IA average.

As can be seen, just like the Italic Picenes, the Italic Fratta Polesine IA sample is eastward shifted relative to the IA Etruscans and Latins and sits amongst modern norms of Northern Italy.

I am @0.03034744 from that sample.
A bit distant.
