Maybe there's some Beaker group out there which would better scoop up those stray steppe admixed cultures? Or a Bronze or Iron Age Balkan group?We've had a couple of discussions as to whether the Langobards/Goths etc. had an impact on North central Italians and Tuscan. I plan on putting together one made of averages for this particular modeling, when I get a chance in a bit. But first I have to install curtain rods in my kitchen. :)
 
But also, I have noticed that using 0.25x for this modeling seems to give everyone Mycenaean over Minoan.

I am really surprised that the Mycenaean sample you used is so far away from any of the Greek samples.
 
Jovialis: Interesting using the 0.25x scaling. Model fit with it and the Mycenaean is not as good for me as the models in my post #118. Anyone have any plausible explanations for these differences in results for everyone.

Definitely an issue, considering the fact that TSI doesn't have more Le Tene than anyone else in the entire world.

I think it may be because if you narrow down the choices the Mycenaean provides the necessary extra steppe admixture which Minoan doesn't have.

Just my personal opinion, but I think the work behind the chart in post 107 is the most congruent with what we know about ancient migrations throughout Europe, so I don't see why they'd be wrong only for Italy.

I agree, in post 128 and 129 I demonstrate how the "averages" version is also erroneous for other modern populations as well. I think 107 is more ideal, for sure.
