Number of SNPs tested

According to genetic testing companies it seems that not all of them are testing the same number of SNPs.

My question is:

More SNP tested = More accurate autosomal results ?

Where is there no explanation as to why? It could help readers if there had been one. I understand why more SNPs are better and when but someone else clicking on the thread that doesn't know deserves an explanation.
