Mice and rats are gross. But frankly, nothing is worse to me than cockroaches. I would die if I had to lived an invested home. It is a real phobia I have.

I've never thought of mice and rats as gross. Personally, I find them very cute — certainly much cuter than many breeds of dogs. Hamsters and gerbils are in the same muridae family and many people keep them as pets. Actually, mice and rats also kept as pets.

How can people not like adorable creatures like this?

I think mice and rats are cute and real intelligent as well. Cockroaches are just nasty.
I’ll admit, alligators can be cute when being fed raw meat.

"If you kill a cockroach you are a hero. If you kill a butterfly you are evil. Morals have aesthetic criteria."

The funny thing is, I am don't have that aversion to other insects. I am fine with ants, beetles, etc. But it is specifically cockroaches that are very disgusting to me, and even alarming. I think the Mantis is a very interesting creature, even if it is the cousin of the cockroach.

But also, this kind of roach in the video isn't even that gross, it more so the American Cockroach (Palmetto Bug), they can even fly sometimes.

For me, it is not how they look, it is more the idea of infestation, and having to deal with them getting into food, and leaving droppings. That's the part that is gross to me. They do not invoke the visceral atavistic disgust I have for vermin like roaches (Palmetto Bug, specifically), who look alien, and disturbing to me. Also their eradicate movement, or when they are flipped over with their legs flailing.
