Crossing paths at the funeral service for Nelson Mandela, apparently President Obama shook hands with President Castro of Cuba. And long overdue too! While American sanctions against Cuba may have been appropriate during the Cold War, that ended decades ago, yet the enmity continues. Having a communist country on ones doorstep may not be ideal but Cuba is hardly in a position to pose a threat to the USA.

The only threat it poses is for its own people, their freedom and standard of life.
I was never a big fan of sanctions, because at the end of a day they hurt the ordinary people the most. Except sanctions for weapons and nuclear equipment.
