post your East Med and West Med component scores from Eurogenes K13

my scores :

East Med : 30.84%

West Med : 8.28%


Druze score the highest in East Med

and Sardinians score the highest in West Med
 
i am curious what members here score

does anybody have Corsican gedmatch kit numbers ? i wonder how they will score

you can not see which ethnicities actually score the highest in specific components when you look in the Eurogenes K13 spreadsheet . the East Med component peaks in Yemenite Jews in the spreadsheet but it is actually the Druze who score the highest or at the very least as high as the Yemenite Jews . the West Asian component : Abkhasians score the highest in the spreadsheet but it is actually western Georgians such as Mingrelians , Imeretians , Rachans who score the highest . the North Atlantic : Frisians , some Irish and some Scots score the highest but i bet most if not all of you didnt know that Frisians score among the highest . Baltic : in the spreadsheet Lithuanians score the highest but Latvians actually score the highest or at minimum as high as Lithuanians . i wonder if there will be any ethnicitiy that will score higher West Med than Sardinians ... i doubt it but it would be nice to know . i wonder if Corsicans might score higher ....i dont think they do though . i have seen a Corsican result and it didnt score higher than Sardinians

I don't know the kit number of a Sardinian in GEDMACH but I know that the next data are the percentages of the 13 components of a typical Sardinian in the original Eurogenes GEDMATCH K13 spreadsheet;

Mr. Eurogenes (Davidsky) must have worked with raw data of Sardinians to obtain the score of 13 components in his standard spreadsheet.
In this sense, a typical Sardinian, according to Eurogenes Gedmatch K13, is:
West_Med 51.87,
East_Med 21.49

They should’ve added something like an Aegean med component which would be different from the west med aka Iberian or Sardinian and the east med which seems more Levantine (but Yemeni Jews score high in that who are Arabian genetically so something is really off about east med). It would fit better from south Italy to Greece and the islands

as i said in the spreadsheet yemenite jews have the most but it is actually druze who score the most . i ran a druze kit and it got 54 % east med for example . and yemenite jews have a lot of red sea (the actual arabian component) . druze have a lot less red sea

Yep. I’m not suprised they would as you can’t get a more Levantine group than the Druze or Lebanese. They’re pretty much peak Levantine. Still, there could’ve been a more Aegean component something more Minoan/Anatolian to fill the gap from Sicily to Cypriots but I think this was made well before we had dna taken from Ancient Greeks so that would’ve been rough. Besides, I’m sure theyve moved on with more up to date tools which I don’t blame then for. Still a fun calculator to play with!

Non-French admixed Corsicans are basically a mixture of Ligurian and Tuscan, so unless any of those two score higher West Med than the Sardinian I would say it is unlikely.
