Corsica was a possession of the Republic of Genova for five centuries, and there has also been continued migration into Corsica from nearby Toscana. The most famous example of this migration from the mainland is "la famiglia Buonaparte". Napoleon's mother's family was descended from immigrants who came from Liguria and his father's from an area on the Toscana/Liguria border. (about a kilometer, as the crow flies, from where I was born)
Corsican is very close to Tuscan.

Back further in time there were the Romans, who colonized the island extensively, and before that the Ligures. Some have speculated the Ligures moved into Italy (and Corsica) as part of the Urnfield expansions, and might have carried U-152.
