Climate change Siciliy: New Highest Temperature Ever Recorded in Europe

I was going to post it.

The new record of 48.8°C is 0.8°C higher than the 48°C in Athens in 1977.

Also on 11th August this year, just across the sea from Sicily, it was 49°C in Tunis - a full 2 degrees higher than the previous record of 46.8°C in 1982.

Had 38* for 3 - 5 days in a row back at home(continental climate, so supposed to be very rare and a one day a season record occurrance, not almost a week in a row). Had to leave for the seaside, and am happy to say 33 is much more managable, especially in the water.

I am more of a cold weather person, so it has been kind of hell.

And the trend was undeniable, but now even the biggest skeptics better concede.

July was the hottest month recorded, in 140 years of recordkeeping.

My guess is August might shatter that.
