the big pitty is that in the park and nearby is NATO bombing training field,

a seal comes out to the beach to play with swimers

at the nearby Skopellos island,

a male monachos seal went to beach to make a 'solarium' and have a nap.

Seals are not hostile animals except in the caves where they keep their newborns.
but their psychology is like a 'free' dog, they bark.
so avoid to play with them, cause they might heart you with their teeth,

Saving the shark

it is a blue shark, mainly crub and oyster eater, but occasionally it attacks to humans,
anyway the last shark attack in Greece was at 1981, and it was an adriatic sea 'great white'.

in the video the shark has Υποξαιμια, a condition of law oxygen in blood,
or in common words, the shark is drunk,
that happens cause the shark must swim to breath.

oh and offcourse sharks are dangerous, but not all sharks, and not as in the movies.

Caretta caretta

the Aegean sea turtle,

before about 50-60 years the home of all caretta in mediterrenean was an isolated shore at Zakynthos island,
today they reproduce to more and more areas,
thanks to help of scientific organisations,
Turtles have a genetical memory, so they mainly lay their eggs, where they were born.

thanks to such acts,

today, the time you rest under the sun,
you maybe surprised, by turning your head and see the sand moving, full of newborn turtles.
remember only 1 out of 1000 will reach maturity

they are newborn sea turtles

oofcourse such things are not every day,
the chance is low.

but it is common to see this

offcourse Greece is not only sea,

Upper Makedonia, mountains

in Greece lots of money are spend to save the last few tenths of this kind of arctos.

most of them grew at shelters,
so they are not so wild against humans.

Nobody knows where they are from or how ancient they are,

Until now I have not found a scientific papper about them,

around 1900 they were 2-3 groups,
at 1970 they were almost extinc,

today the pack has grown,
Locals say that they come from antique,
from released horses of ancient makedonian army,
but most possible it is rumors,

Anyway they live bove 1100 to 2600 m height,
and they survive the freeze of the Olympus winter,

if you ever climb to Mytikas (best era may to middle September)
you might be lucky to see them

the race of the horses is Θεσσαλικος Ιππος(Thettalian horse) it is known that they used by the Thettalian cavalry of ancinet Makedonians,
yet Boukephalas might be a scythian horse.

it is the most big and the most muscle domestic horse in Greece from antique times
comparing with Cretan, Pindos and Scyriano horse,
a very strong and dangerous horse difficult to train.

that is what makes the locals to believe that the pack is very ancient,
yet officially genetical papper does not exist, if they have admixture or not,

the Olympos Unigue wild goats.

They are 2-3 packs,
they are unigue
a kind of a sub specie of the Capra Aegagrus Cretica,

The Olympos wild Goat is a unigue high protected kind,
its only relative are the Aegagrus of Crete and Giaros Yaros-Γιαρος island.

all 3 were taxonomized as Cretica, but have some differences among them.

if you ever climb at Olympos mt,
you might lucky to see them,

it closest nearby cousin is in Crete,
and if you travel Samaria valley, you might see them,

they are more antilopes than goats

Danger!!

wild goats natural enviroment are rocky cliffs and dangerous climb steps,
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FOLLOW THEM, OR TO GET NEAR THEM.
YOU DO NOT SAVE A WILDGOAT BY MOVING HER FROM ROCKYCLIFFS,
as some stupid celebrities tried to do lately.

AND MAY SURVIVE IF AGRICULTURAL INDUSTRIES STOP TOXIC PRODUCTS

Cinereous vulture or Aegypius monachos ΜαυροΓυπας
The largest bird in Europe with more than 3 meters wings

Cinereus vulture was all over balkans at 1900 and was not an endagered kind,
after 1960 with the growing of agropharmacautical industries almost exting till 1980,
THE MAIN REASON OF ITS EXTICTION WAS INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTS USED TO KILL FIELD ANIMALS, LIKE RATS,

by its nature as a scavenger, he has no problem with diseases from the corpse he eats,
but has big problem to metabolise the chemicals used by modern agromedicines,
mainly ratkilling and some antibiotics used in animal breeding.

At 1980 about ten animals existed in Greece.
At Δαδια Εβρου, Dadia Evros at Thrace, they started from 4 couples, and manage to raise them to 30 breeding couples,
making the new generation of Cinereous that will fly all over Europe.

Dadia is one of the top bird refuggee park, and one of the few breeding vultures in Europe (if not the only one)

At July 2018 Green Life and Green Balkans organisation expand the boarders and release birds which were in captivity to Bulgaria,
Cinereous was once common in Bulgaria, until 1960's.
Now he returns back to areas were once used to Fly, Stara Planina.

the plan is to spread more Cinereous all over balkans,
So When you move with your car and a big shadow passes over,
feel huppy, cause humans did not eliminate a servant of nature,
a true enviromental cleaner.

the bellow is a GPS transmited signal of wandering Cinereous,
meaning that Dadia population is already crounded,
and they start to search for new lands.

3 meters makes one hell of a bird

Last week. Bear cub browsing around my neighborhood in CT.
Was small, I could have Totally Defeated it with my Bare Hands if I wanted to. lol
Animal Control was searching for the Mother too, I hope that they are back together. (far, far Away)

The razorback whale,

lately the pack is most vissible,
their population is small,
and they afraid people very much,

they are the Adriatic razorback whales,
a single back, they moved from Ionian pelagos to Crete and Dodecanesa,
they even reach Cyprus and Attaleia in Turkey,
some presence in Lebanon is reported,

Some say it is the same with Ligurian pack,
others say it a new Adriatic pack.

THEIR MAIN ENEMY,
IS THE SAME WITH DOLPHINS AND ZIFIOS WHALE,
THE SUBMARINES, AND ALL HUMAN DEEP SEA ACOUSTICAL ACTIVITY.
SONAR IS KILLING WHALES AND DOLPHINS.
Their main enemy is military activity with SoNAR etc,
and fast speed of ships at swallow waters.


In Greece exist also a humback whale pack.
but they are very rare to see them.
