What happened to genarchivist

I haven't seen any update on it. I'm surprised more people aren't questioning what's happened since the forum was pretty popular. It would be nice if the owner could make an official explanation.

This was posted on Discord by Albruic last night:

Hello everyone, someone here made some kind of sub-section about GA but it doesn't seem to be visible anymore, so I am going to repost it here with some news.
~
I will not get into details but let's say we don't have many people that enjoy what we are trying to do with Genarchivist. Somehow, being averse to hate speech and low quality discussions may be a personal matter to some, and we are just trying to create a safe, clean and honest place for discussion around the topics we love to study. Not saying our administration is perfect, we may be taking some wrong decisions over time and many might not agree on how I run the forum and direct the mod team, but no one is being obliged to stay. Me and everyone behind Genarchivist project are just normal people that are taking their time and money to have a place for our passion that is genetic genealogy and everything related to this world. I will not give up on my project and I was expecting things like this to come, it just happened because I didn't pay enough attention to this matter and for that I apologize to everyone.
For now, it is just a waiting game, so we wait, I'm not giving up on Genarchivist.

UPDATE:
I was patient enough, I wanted to keep the domain as it is but I might have to change it, so I'm going to wait a couple of days, if I still have no answer from anyone I contacted to solve my problem, genarchivist.com is probably going to be genarchivist.somethingelse
Nothing else is going to change.

I thank everyone for the patience and everyone that is still waiting for us. Don't worry, we will be back.

That't not enough. The admin guy should already provided us some backup access doesn't matter if genarchivist.somethingelse or
genarchivist.free-forums.net.
I suspect there is some conspiracy behind.. The main scientific guildia may not be happy of the ideas posted on genarchivist.
It's not about the administration or author's permissions. It's more about the new ideas and about reporting bugs that current scientific society is ignoring.. So if the owner of the genarchivist is part of the existing "scientific cast" and making some money because of the current scientific methodology, then it is absolutely justified to shut it down and to keep the current "scientific methods" as the leading technology.. Delaying new ideas to go in public will just allow these people to get more grants, to have more money before they will be forced to fix their mistakes.

There is no point in looking for such conspiratorial ideas. GA was launched by pure amateurs traumatized by the collapse of Anthrogenica, with the sole aim of providing their fellow men with a home to exchange ideas. As a supermoderator of GA and former moderator of AG I can testify that I have never been asked for anything other than to ensure that people respect each other and respect the authors of the works they cite, in addition of course to the usual work of eliminating spam. It was never a question of promoting any ideological line or protecting any doxa.

As a supermoderator, do you have any inside information as to why GA has been down for so long and whether or not it's coming back?

What do you suspect is the issue? And do you personally think that GA will be back online eventually?
I am completely ignorant of anything related to forum management. Domain names, server rentals—it's all Chinese to me. If I interpret what Albruic wrote on Discord correctly, it's a question of this order that is at issue. As for whether a solution will be found soon, I sincerely hope so, but I can't say more.

Thanks for answering my question as best as you can. I sincerely hope that it comes back online.

What conspiracy exactly?

People probably assume that because Anthrogenica was notorious for banning people that didn't agree with a moderator. I myself was banned numerous times for disagreeing with 1 particular moderator on Anthrogenica on a topic.

There are some issues with the usage of F-stats. In addition, the existing version for Denisovan admixture in Papuans could be entirely wrong. We just started some conversations in such topics when the forum was shut down.

I appreciate the update. "genarchivist.com is probably going to be genarchivist.somethingelse" I think that summarizes the core of the issue. Having "genarchivist.somethingelse" infers it will be hosted on a free platform. Forum hosting costs a fair amount of money so it would make sense for them to transition to a free platform.

I find the idea of conspiracy really far-fetched. I am not a geneticist but a linguist, but I never have and never will be threaten by any forum discussions.

1. If some anonymous forum member had an actually good idea for improving the quality of research, I would gladly write to that person and discuss more about it. I would have no problem co-operating with clever and skillful lay(wo)men e.g. in a research article.

2. If some anonymous forum member just ranted based on some basic misunderstanding and misbelieved to have discovered something revolutionary, I might just laugh by myself or try to explain to that person what they got wrong. The choice would depend on whether or not that person seems sunken beyond reasoning into their conspiracy theories or come out as a smart person capable of argument-based discussion.

There's no conspiracy. Crap happens. Don't ramble about things you don't know.
Did you ever post at GenArchivist? I never saw you there, but you were a big shot at Anthrogenica.

While it is clear that all moderators weren't acting that way ... Anthrogenica had serious troubles on this side.
Yet, GenArchivist was providing a way better moderation with less ideological bias (which might annoy some people in fact).

F-stats are very minimal basic tools, what would be the issues of using that ?
F-stats are just measures of genetic distances.

F-stats were used to prove the link between Papuans and Denisov.
F-stats were also used to prove the amount of Neanderthal components in European and other Eurasians.
Imagine if all this is wrong ? Imagine if the highest amount of Denisova and Neanderthal components are in the Africans ?
That means all the current postulates are wrong..
And that means that the whole this new scientific branch needs a total revising.

I hope afrer sharing this small info this forum will not be shut down in the next 1-2 days as what happened in GA.

FYI: I also don't think there is conspiracy... Crap things happens ..
However in case if this forum goes down, please someone to provide an alternative link .. In case if this forum is also shut down in the next 1-2 days.. We never know.. I have many more reasons to think there is some conspiracy.. The bad guys work for the crap things to happen.. I don't really know what happens anymore.

The expiry date for eupedia.com is 2026. So for the next 2 years this domain should be up and running. Thanks god !
