What is the R1 languages? earliest forms of Proto-IE? unknown languages? EHG languages which great-great grandfather of Proto-IE? Para-Proto-IE? I wonder it.

R1 is how old? There's no way to establish a chain from R1 to IE. Plus other lineages like Q1a and I2a probably took part in the creation of PIE.

Of course R1 peoples do not speak Proto-IE but they spoke ancestral language which was ancestor of Proto-IE.
