Hungary: 167 Olimpics Gold Medal for 9.8 M population (RATIO: 17 gold medals for a million people)

USA :eek:nly 967 Gold Medals for 319 Million population (RATIO: 3 gold medals for a million people)

Britain: only 236 Gold Medals for 64 Million population (RATIO: 3,68 gold medals for a million people)

France: only 202 Gold Medals for 66 Million population (RATIO: 3 gold medal for a million people)

Russia: only 133 Gold Medals for 144 Million population (RATIO: 0,923 gold medal for a million people)

Italy: Only 198 Golden Medals for 60 Million (RATIO: 3,3 gold medal for a million people)

AND FINALLY GERMANY (good rsults, but even very far from Hungarian ratio)

547 GErman gold Medals for 80 Million population (RATIO: 6,83 gold medal for a million people)

It's not really a fair statistic when the teams are limited in size, plus you have to look at a particular sport. If all individuals of a population competed, then your statistics would be correct (of course the results would be very different).

It looks like Hungarians are very good fencers (Most of their gold medals). Skiing on the other hand not so much.

World's fastest man (running 100m): USA 15 gold medals. Hungary: 0.

Why are Hungarians so damn slow?

Read it again. Fencing is not the best sport.

Americans spend a lot of money for sports, despite of this they seems weak in olympics.

Fencing 35 Gold medals.
Swimming 25 Gold medals.
et..

If we are talking about the Olympics.

They seem to be pretty good in the water as well.

"Americans spend a lot of money for sports, despite of this they seems weak in olympics." Not true.

American's are not subsidized by the government in the Olympic games. Only the top athletes are endorsed by corporations. The remaining athletes (majority) pay for training out of pocket. It's expensive to compete in the US and make an Olympic team. In Hungary the government subsidizes the athletes.

Again, teams are limited in size. You have to qualify to compete. It is a better statistic to quantify the total number of athletes who qualified not the countries general non-athletic population.

2012 Summer Olympics: Hungary had 159 participants and 18 total medals. That's roughly 11% receiving medals. USA had 530 participants and 104 medals. That's roughly 20% receiving medals.

Hungary had about 5% receiving gold medals and the USA had about 9% receiving gold medals.

We get it, Hungary is awesome. What is your main goal with all the nationalist posts. Do Europeans think Hungary is the Arkansas of Europe, and you are trying to refute it?

Oh, now we learned from you that Hungarians are poor or at least cheap in sports and they are slow, lol. It doesn't look good for best nation in Europe.
