Well that was the point Putin was making, in the regions that did not identify with Ukraine and spoke Russian. If I was in charge of Ukraine as my ancestors were, I would have made every effort to avoid this tragedy. First let any Oligarch comedian show how he is connected with real ancient original Ukrainians.Let those that wish to claim and control Ukrainian people and land prove they belong there, not some paid mercenaries.

Exactly. We should focus on what's best for the Ukrainian, the Russian, and all Europeans. Not what's best for Selenski, Biden or Putin.
And the best thing for Ukrainian, Russians and Europeans alike would have been a diplomatic solution which results in a compromise.
No greater Ukraine with pro-Russian territories in the NATO, but also no destroyed, occupied Ukraine under complete Russian control.

I just wonder what's so difficult to understand about that. The confrontational attitude of both sides is what created this completely unnecessary bloodbath!

If Biden wouldn't have backen up and pushed Selenski, he wouldn't have started the political pure and preparation for the reconquest of Donbas, and if that wouldn't have happened, Putin wouldn't have ordered the invasion.
