Altmühltal Nature Park.
Introduction
The Altmühl Valley is the fifth largest of Germany's 27 nature parks and covers an area of 2962 km². The park is characterized by gently undulating tablelands and steep valleys with precipitous limestone cliffs along the Altmühl River. Half of the park is wooded.
The river is an excellent place for canoeing and kayaking, while the well-marked trails make it perfect for cycling or walking. The information centre is located in Eichstätt.
