Mastroianni's nose is quite small for the ancient Greek standards.

I think that its not just about the nose being straight, it has to be straight (neither convex nor concave),
and almost the same angle as the forehead, with a very high root (so it blends from nose to forehead).
Also if its too short it lacks the same effect.

Interesting.

This is a kosovo albanian actor. If the nose was just a little bit less convex i think he would be a match Shkelqim.jpg

I agree with Garibaldi, I think Pierre Casiraghi is very close, as is Tito Rossi, and so is John Barrymore(whom I posted), from whom Drew Barrymore got her nose. Elvis too, strangely enough. There's no profile shot for the Albanian linguist, so I'm not sure.

I think Tesla's nose has a curve.

Mastroianni's nose, like that of Papas, has the high root, but is short.

Alessandra Mastronardi seems as if she might have it, but I can't find a good profile picture of her. I love the way she looks.

She's too square jawed and full mouthed to be classic, however.

Yeah I dont think he typifies it or anything, just slightly, i couldnt find any profile shots :/

Maybe Leelee Sobieski ? I'm not sure.

I don't think so. She has a nose like Meryl Streep: long, yes, but low rooted, bumpy, and pointy. I don't want to be catty, but I'm not a fan of that kind of nose.

I never had any desire to change my nose, but if I had this nose I would have it fixed.

@Johane,
Denis Johnson has the nose part, I think. After all, in my book, "Nordic" is just de-pigmented Med, more or less. Look at his head.

I wonder about Garibaldi and Tesla

just wear them a tragiaska traiascka hat and they will look like N Balkanic
like Serbs, Romanians, too much long nose and down shifted

I don't know, I feel we unintentionally expanded the definition to more than one type. If we take the forehead and nose from the "classical" sculptures as the defining markers of this type, then:

He has a very strong brow ridge, maybe similar to Mithridates of Pontus

same with Glykos

Malezas has a curvy nose

now Manolas could have passed if he had deeper set eyes IMO, but he is the closest.

That's according to my expert opinion LOL

You have to look at profile pictures. None of those Greeks has a classical Greek nose as depicted on statuary and paintings, except perhaps for Manolas. They all have a pronounced indentation at the root. If the nose isn't high rooted it doesn't fit the definition.

For example, I just watched Game of Thrones. This is Clarice Van Houten, playing the Red Priestess. I though she might have it.

I found a good profile picture, however. Her nose is just like mine: there's a slight indentation at the root, so, no prize.

Look at this by way of contrast.

Basically the same nose, but no indentation, not even a slight one.

This thread is "teasing" me....it's nothing but a gallery of adorable Italian women! I never heard of Alessandra Mastronardi, but man what a flower!!!!

There are plenty of people with that forehead/nose combo. The nose in the classical phenotype is archtypical for Caucasians/West Eurasians; Tall, long, thin, fat round tip.
