(NEW) GenePlaza K25 and K29 Modern Calculator Results

don't know what happen to the update of the k25 to k29
not a sign at all in geneplazza :(
didn't answer me
and i hope kurd knows whats going on with it ....

I messaged them again. Normal response time on their site says 3 hours(rigghtt lol). 2 messages and almost 35 hours later, no response. Anyone who hasn't done K29 able to sign in geneplaza and see what version of the calculator is available? Perhaps its available and they just haven't updated those who purchased the previous version.

Now, the apps page shows K29, but clicking it still shows K25. So, they must be in the process of updating.

If you don’t mind me asking could you post your FTDNA 2.0 scores? My theory is that the West and Central Europe category has a lot of EEF in it and that a lot of Southwestern or South Central scores on other calculators gets assigned to West and Central Europe.

posted the results on the FTDNA thread;
about the k29 update hayden in anthrogenica said about the previous k12 update that you have to notify geneplaza to update otherwise they wont do it meaning its not automatic ??? is that also here the case?

Notified them 30 hours ago. Twice even. crap customer service.

Best option is to use a website like imgbb. Upload ur image then go to embedded codes underneath the pic after uoaded. Copy the link with full image link. Then post it into the test. Make sure is BB and not html.

I just tried that but kept getting a message saying it's invalid.
I chose BBcode full linked after uploading, copied the garbage in the box at the bottom, pasted it and bang, no luck.

It says K29 but the results are not updated, as it still shows west slavic, and the old references for South Slavic. Not actually updated. I sent them ANOTHER message lol.

See.if there is an option for html mode and then just past that in the box. Also click on the image icon and see if u can directly past the url there.

kurd mentioned something of batches maybe they are going in order, but no clue what my number is, but if they are selling the k29 now than no extra costs just waiting; it will be seen;

PS: the message you send them, do you used the smiley in the purple bubble/circle?

Yea I just got response too. Doing it in batches. Should have results within a few hours.

A genetic category that mixes Sardinians, an isolated population, with the Sicilians doesn't make much sense. I suspect they have been united only because are geographically two islands in the Mediterranean sea. Sardinians should be in the southwestern European cluster. Other categories on K25 seems to be based on odd reference samples.

@ alexfritz

Your German side could be very French-like or Swiss German-like, I've seen Southern Germans considerably further south genetically than the northern Germans and eastern Germans. In any case both your parents can be below their respective reference averages.

A half-Swiss German half-Swiss French on GenePlaza (another GenePlaza calculator, I think), DNA Land, FTDNA My origins and My Heritage.

32.5% Northwest European
56.4% Southwestern European
4.5% North Slavic
6.6% Ambiguous

FTDNA My origins

– 55% West and Central Europe
– 14% British Isles
– 12% Southeast Europe
– 10% Iberia
– 7% East Europe
– 2% West Middle East

DNA Land

– 36.0% Northwest European
– 26.0% Southwestern European
– 24.0% South/Central European
– 9.3% Mediterranean Islander
– 3.5% North Slavic
– 1.2% Ambiguous

My Heritage

It doesn't explain all the Ukrainian like ancestry he got on the other calculator. If I were looking at his results blind, I'd say he was 100% Friulan or something, which would explain the distance to Bergamo.

Soory about talking about you in the abstract this way, Alex.

All is well with the world again. Lmao. Extremely Accurate. I suppose since my father shifts a bit with his east med he gets more Sicilian.

Here's the spreadsheet :petrified:

i'm excited for the rerun, something in my ancestry raw data always causes these kinds of calculators to go bonk, maybe its possible but i'm kind of in denial that i have 20% northern euro and 0% south slavic (mine all fell under the central slavic category, good riddance!) but knowing the way things always shake out with me it'll probably just get parsed into 30% northern euro and 30% eastern euro or something similar.

Here's the spreadsheet :petrified:

Italian_N could be an Italian user active on anthrogenica who lives in north Italy but he is 3/4 from south Italy. I'm saying this because I've seen he was the only Italian who sent his raw data to Kurd and in previous spreadsheet his results were labeled as Italian_N.

That's a little disconcerting, I thought he would have used legit samples. But I guess samples like "Dorkymon" is evident of the fact the used user uploads.
