This folk song it's about the Albanian mythologic creature "zana e malit" ( fairy of the mountain in English).
Every mountain was said to have its own zana, who appeared as a fair maiden found bathing naked in mountain streams. The zana is believed to be extremely courageous, a formidable opponent, who can bestow her protection on warriors. Albanians even have an expression "ai ishte trim si zana", meaning, he was as brave as a fairy, this is used to refer to very courageous individuals. They have another expression, a curse expression actually, "te shitoft zana" (may fairy bewitch you, in English).
In this song two brother were bewitched by a beautiful fairy and they killed each other for her.

He contribuited to erase "blood feuds" in Kosovo. In some remote part of North Albania "blood feuds" still exists. The laws governing "blood feuds" stem from the traditional Albanian social code, the Kanuni i Leke Dukaginit referred to as the Kanun

"I offer you the blood of my son (I'll forgive you for my killed son)"
