Classify Greek Chef

there is nothing Turkish about him

if it were not for the moustache, it would be my youngest son, so he could be Northwest European as much as Turkish

Very handsome younger son you have, then. :)

His name is Engin Akyurek, and he was born in Ankara, although I don't know if that's his ancestral area. This might be a more representative picture of him. He looks a lot like my husband at that age in this picture, except my husband has a squarer jaw and a broader cheek area. Oh, and a cleft chin. :)

I agree. I realized the first picture might not have been totally representative, although a tan versus no tan, face angle etc. can change things. It's amazing what a tan or black hair versus brown hair can do in terms of perception.

in all photos is the same person

I see it very Celtic.

Not trying to argue, but what makes him Celtic like?

Anyway I'll throw in my guess and say eastern Mediterranean (by Gencove standards-Balkans, Greece, Cyprus, Sicily, and Turkey).

I don't see anything "Celtic" like or northwestern European like in him either. He looks Southern European, probably Greek, and maybe atypical Turk.

As for Akyurek, in the majority of his pictures he looks very Greek to me, then second perhaps Turkish. Given how much genetic exchange there's been between the two areas, that shouldn't be a surprise. How tan he is affects it a lot in terms of the perception by common people.

The closest British Isles person who immediately comes to my mind is Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, who is at least partially Welsh, but the differences are very apparent.

I suspect alot of people do this with particular intents and agendas...

What was that?

Please next time write under the picture that what you want to hear from us, so we can tell you what you desire.

No offence you can answer whatever you want

But when i see certain answers and look at the person's profile i almost already know
that the country eithers says Turkey or Albania, surprise surprise

Off topic:

Western Turkey was basically a Greek colony and still some people there carry some Greek customs ever after the fall of Byzantine empire. Is it a surprise that some Western Turks look Greek? I've never seen a Greek person who looked like Turkish at first sight but in a group of 100 Turks you will see people who look Bosniak, Albanian, Kurdish, Levantine, Armenian, Uzbek, Eastern-Oriental influenced. In other words Turkey is a mixed soup.

On topic: He looks 100% South-Eastern European.
